The Embarrassment of Your Past

I have had a photo from my Class of 1977 yearbook that has recently resurfaced on Facebook. A former classmate has obviously scanned and posted this photo of me. I remember when this photo was captured. I was at a swim meet at Riverside-Brookfield High School. Now swimming for some reason was a winter sport. So during a lull in the swim meet I went out to the cold drafty hallway. I grabbed my jacket and was followed by fellow swimmer William Frampton who happened to be a school photographer. So when I graduated that spring and received my yearbook this photo surfaced. You remember back in the 1970’s streaking was a big thing. So the assumption that I am au natural under jacket is sadly incorrect. I would only be exposing you to my electric blue ‘Speedo’. It’s a fun picture though and my Swim Coach Ken Brown signed my yearbook next to the photo claiming full responsibility for the swimmers body I had at that time. The son-of-a-bitch was more correct than he knew. I haven’t look or been in that good of shape since.
