Bobby and I first met when I was flooring at the MGM a while back. Bobby had just taken the dealing position there after many years at the now since imploded Desert Inn. Not long after we opened the Palms in 2001 Bobby and I  were working side by side once again. When I was growing up in Illinois and had no inkling of ever moving to Las Vegas I loved watching college basketball and I always followed University of Nevada Las Vegas. Thats when I first became aware of Bobby. Bobby was a proficient scorer and is a UNLV Hall of Famer. What makes Bobby stand out is that he also got his degree while fulfilling his athletic scholarship.

Due to a recent health setback Bobby quickly focussed on his real passion – EDUCATION. Promoting a central message of staying in school. Bobby also combined two of his loves and penned a book “College What Every Athlete Needs to Know“. Now Bobby who still frequents his favorite restaurant that I turned him on to called Pasta Mia. Bobby has developed a program for all children and the importance of an education. Bobby has worked hard and getting his message out to the children. I believe Bobby strikes me as the kind of person who could have accomplished any goal he set his mind to. He could have been a great basketball player. That would have been a good life. He could have been a dealer in Las Vegas. Did I mention that he also created a game himself called “ROYAL 20′S“. That would have been a good life. So the setbacks were not really setbacks at all. Focussing on keeping the youth in school and helping young athletes to take advantage of  an education can really open one up to a great life. I am proud to have got to know you Bobby and I am grateful for the work you are doing.face
